BOTANY BAY FISH WELL

THE BOYS TURN IT ON WITH A TOP CATCH OF TREVALLY ON THE AFTERNOON OUTTING WITH NATHAN
Well another Christmas day shoots buy, The fishing out on Botany Bay has been rather good lacking in Kingies but Bream, Trevally Tailor and some outstanding Flathead on Plastics have come to the boat most days, One trip the boys cooked up a top feed of fresh Trevally Filet's and a tomato, Chili, Garlic sauce this was a first and bloody good.
The Bream are a smaller run with most fish around 27cms to 30cm all taken on Nippers from the middle of the Bay to the third runway.
Trevally are proving the fish to target and most fish are hanging around deep water burley is needed for best results.
Spinning for Flathead the last two trips we have boated quite a few solid fish up to 6ocms all taken on Squidges in 2metres to 5metres of Towra Point.

GOOD WEEKEND OF FISHING

Rat Kingies seem to be in big numbers in the Bay, light tackle is great fun, 65cms is the legal lenght so handle the smaller fish with care and return to the water quickly.

Dave with a solid Bream caught just inside the river mouth at Towra
on the runout tide at midday on Saturday.

Nice mixed bag of Bream and Trevally

This weekend the weather was, well if you followed the reports you would have stayed at home as they said strong winds form the North, Only reach 15 khots.

The water temp has fallen along the coast and in the entrance of the Bay so the fishing has been a little tricky, Trevally Alley shut down on Friday and I found that the better fishing was further down the Bay of the Third Runway, small Kingies, Tailor and the odd Bream were caught on the run out tide, Small Kingies on light tackle are loads of fun but remember that 65cms is the legal size so put them back if there under.

Saturday I fished the Drums after the fun with the small Kingies and landed quite a few good Trevally and Toby nailed a solid Bream.

Sunday we headed off shore after loading up on live baits but the swell wa up and by the time we reached the Peak it was unfishable so I headed back to the Bay and all on board were rather happy when I reach the mouth and the flat waters of the Bay, and so was I.

Anchored up and scored well on Trevally at the Drums before we had to move dew to a ship leaving, we move to the sticks and caught a few more Trevally and one nice bream.

So all in all rather good other than three hours at sea out at the Peak but that's the bloody weather for you.

WILD AND WINDY

Trevally from the third runway
Well what a weekend, Saturday started well and we found a few Trevally just off the Third Runway but at 9.20am the change hit and within 5minutes we had one metre waves crashing all around the boat, little fun getting the anchor up.
Headed towards Brighton for shelter and the plan was to work plastics for Flathead and target Bream and Whiting on bait but the change put a stop to that, a total shut down in all active.
Sunday was called off dew to the weather.

WHAT COMING UP
*Fish afternoons 4pm to 7pm out of Cronulla weekdays.

BAY TURNS IT ON

MIXED BAG FOR THE FISHING SCHOOL

SOLID FLATHEAD TAKEN ON A SQUIDGIE OF TOWRA POINT
GOOD RESULT FOR THE FISHING SCHOOL ON HOW TO USE PLASTICS.

TOP RESULTS FOR FISHING SCHOOLS FISHING WIDE OF TOWRA POINT
FISHING SCHOOL OUT ON THE WATER
The weather was a little strange on Saturday but the fishing proved rather good, Hit the water at 6am and headed straight to Trevally Alley to look for a good start as the Trevally have been in good numbers and the first bait landed us a nice fish but that was it.
Headed to the Drums and found quite a few Trevally and the odd Bream mixed in, There are lots of small Yellow tail and a few Slimmys hanging around the Drums as well and I had a live bait over the side for quite a while thinking Kingies but still to early in the season, yes the odd Kingie is showing up but most anglers are working hard for them, Mid December is when all will start.
Trolled the Third runway for a Salmon and then worked the middle of the bay back to Towra for a small Flathead and Bream.
Headed back out Saturday afternoon thinking we were in for a tough session as the weather had turned blowing hard form the south west, we started just wide form Towra on the anchor targeting Bream and Flathead on Plastics, Lost two good Flathead right at the boat and landed to rippers, a stud Whiting and a few nice Bream, well this was a great start the storm and the run in tide had the fish on the bite.
Headed to the Drums and the Trevally turned it on with all bagging quite a few, what a great session out on the bay.
Sunday Morning and the fished turn it on again, The Drums proved a little quite only a few fish so I headed to Bare Island it was a month or two since I had fished here and the Trevally were all good solid fish up around the 1kg mark and loads of fun.
So move around and keep an eye open as the fishing is now heating up as we roll towards Summer.
